スマッシング・パンプキンズは先日再結成ツアーを行うことを発表している。
再結成に際して、バンドは1993年発表の『サイアミーズ・ドリーム』のアルバム・ジャケットをオリジナルのモデルを迎えて再現している。

"On such a special day in SP history, I want to take a moment to thank Ali and LySandra, who you might know were the little girls that I stood by and watched have their picture taken some 23 years ago (on what was a perfect LA afternoon). 「スマッシング・パンプキンズの歴史にとって特別な日にアリとリサンドラに感謝する時間をもうけたいんだ。御存知かもしれないけど、彼女たちは23年前（ロサンゼルスの完璧な昼下がりに）僕もそばにいて見てたんだけど、写真を撮影したんだよね。あの瞬間が永遠に僕らを結びつけることになるなんて分かってなかったし、ロック史における象徴的なイメージとなるなんて分かってなかったよ。素晴らしかったのは彼女たちのお互いのケミストリーがいまだ今日までカメラを通して躍動していることで、記憶が正しければ、彼女たちは『サイアミーズ・ドリーム』の撮影前は会ったことがなかったんだよ。メロディー・マクダニエルの写真が捉えた、彼女たちが一緒にいるところとその美しさは、若さと純潔さがあって、僕にスマッシング・パンプキンズ自身の幸運な星回りを告げるものとなったんだ」
スマッシング・パンプキンズなオリジナル・メンバーであるギタリストのジェイムス・イハ、ドラマーのジミー・チェンバレン、そして長年のコラボレーターであるジェフ・シュローダーと共にニュー・アルバムを完成させている。
オリジナル・ベーシストのダーシー・レッキーは再結成に参加しないことも明らかになっている。
