6月2日・3日に日本武道館で来日公演を行うことが予定されていたザ・ストーン・ローゼズだが、メンバーの怪我によって来日公演がキャンセルとなったことが発表されている。
ドラマーのレニが肋骨を骨折し、最低1ヶ月の療養が必要との医師の判断により、やむを得ず今回の来日公演をキャンセルすることになったという。
マネージメントからの発表は以下の通り。
「The Stone Roses are very sorry to have to cancel their two proposed concerts at the Budokan. Reni has had an accidental fall and fractured two ribs, his doctor has told him to rest for at least a month. Unfortunately this means that the band are unable to fulfil their planned performances in Japan」
「ザ・ストーン・ローゼズは、大変残念ながら日本武道館で予定されていた2公演をキャンセルさせていただきます。ドラマーのレニが不慮の落下により肋骨2本を骨折し、最低1ヶ月の療養が必要との医師の判断により日本で予定していたパフォーマンスを行うことが出来なくなりました」
バンドからのコメントは以下の通り。
「We’re extremely disappointed to be unable to come to Tokyo for Budokan headline shows. We hope to be able to return to Japan soon’. The Stone Roses」
「武道館での単独公演が出来なくなってしまい本当に残念です。出来るだけ早く日本に戻れるよう願っています。 ザ・ストーン・ローゼズ」
チケットは5月10日（火）より6月10日（金）の期間、購入したプレイガイドにて払い戻しが行われる。
