ジョイ・ディヴィジョンはライヴ音源による14CD＋2DVDのボックスセット『エターナル』がリリースされることが決定している。
このボックスセットにはファンによるカセット録音、サウンドボード音源、放送用音源など、計16公演のライブ音源が収録される。14枚組のCDはすべてアビイ・ロード・スタジオでマスタリングされ、1980年にバーミンガムのハイ・ホールで行われた最後のライヴを含め、貴重なパフォーマンスが収録される。
このうち、ホープ＆アンカーとアクラム・ホールの2公演は未発表音源となっている。また、ザ・ファクトリー、ライシーアム、ムーンライト・クラブで行われた公演からは3曲の未発表音源が収録される。
2枚組のDVDには2時間30分を超えるライヴ映像が収録され、マルコム・ホワイトヘッド監督による映像作品『ジョイ・ディヴィジョン – ア・マルコム・ホワイトヘッド・フィルム』の最新編集版も収録される。
ボックスセットは12インチ四方の被せ蓋式ボックス仕様で、ウォーレン・ジャクソン、ピーター・サヴィル、ハワード・ウェイクフィールド、ブレット・ウィッケンズがアートワークで参加している。カヴァーの写真はヴォルフガング・ティルマンスによるもので、ブックレットにはサイモン・アーミテージによるライナーノーツ、アントン・コービンやケヴィン・カミンズによる写真が掲載される。
ボックスセットからはパリのレ・バン・ドゥーシュで収録された“Transmission”の音源が公開されている。

先日、ピーター・フックはジョイ・ディヴィジョン／ニュー・オーダーがロックの殿堂入りを果たすことを決まったことを受けて、亡きイアン・カーティスに捧げている。
ジョイ・ディヴィジョン／ニュー・オーダーは2023年、2025年も候補となってきたが、今年の11月にロサンゼルスで行われる式典でロックの殿堂入りを果たすことが発表されている。
ジョイ・ディヴィジョン時代からベーシストを務め、2007年に脱退したピーター・フックは殿堂入りについてソーシャル・メディアで次のように述べている。「長年、楽しみにしていたんだ。だから、思いっきり喜びたいと思う。これはイアン・カーティスと両バンドのファンに捧げたい。みなさんがいなければ、私たちは何者でもなかった。だから、本当に感謝しています」
ピーター・フックはイアン・カーティスとファンに向けて「授賞式の夜に会えたらと思う」と続けている。「すごく光栄です。ありがとう。授賞式で会おう」なお、ニュー・オーダーのメンバーがロックの殿堂入り式典に出席するかどうかは現時点で分かっていない。
