先日、サージ・タンキアンはジョージ・フロイドの死に対するアメリカ全土に及んだ抗議運動に対する措置をめぐってドナルド・トランプ大統領について「過去の間違いだらけの非民主的なリーダー」と同様だと述べている。

一方、ジョン・ドルマヤンは先日、ドナルド・トランプ大統領について「マイノリティに対する偉大なる友人」と賛辞を寄せており、大統領を支持することでバンドでのポジションを失うことはないと語っている。

また、ジョン・ドルマヤンはバンドが「新作を作りそうにない」と語っている。
