ヴァンズ、ダニエル・ジョンストンのアートワークを使ったアイテムを販売

ヴァンズはダニエル・ジョンストンのアートワークをプリントしたスニーカーやシャツ、帽子を販売することを発表している。

ヴァンズはオースティンの会社であるノー・コンプリーと協力して、ダニエル・ジョンストンのアートワークを使った新たな商品を開発している。

このコレクションの収益はメンタル・ヘルスの問題の認知向上を目指す団体「ハイ、ハウ・アー・ユー・プロジェクト」に寄付される。

商品の一部では1991年発表の第6作目のカセットテープ『ハイ、ハウ・アー・ユー』のアートワークで知られる宇宙人のイメージも使われている。

このコレクションはアメリカのスケート・ショップで6月13日より販売される。

先日、シュプリームもダニエル・ジョンストンのアートワークをプリントした服を販売している。

ダニエル・ジョンストンは昨年9月に享年58歳で亡くなっている。

彼の作品はベック、ザ・フレーミング・リップス、デス・キャブ・フォー・キューティー、ブライト・アイズといった幅広いミュージシャンにカヴァーされている。カート・コバーンは1992年のMTVビデオ・ミュージック・アウォーズでダニエル・ジョンストンのTシャツを着ていたことで知られている。

ダニエル・ジョンストンは健康面の問題から2017年にライヴからの引退を発表している。2017年の最後のライヴにはウィルコのジェフ・トゥイーディ、ビルト・トゥ・スピル、マイク・ワッツ、ベイルートが参加している。
