デヴィッド・ボウイは今年のレコード・ストア・デイにリリースされる3アイテムが発表されている。
今年のレコード・ストア・デイは4月21日に開催されるが、今年もデヴィッド・ボウイの限定商品がリリースされることが決定している。一つ目は3枚組未発表ライヴ・アルバム『ウェルカム・トゥ・ザ・ブラックアウト』で、本作は1978年6月30日・7月1日にロンドンのアールズ・コートで開催されたライヴを収録したものとなっている。トニー・ヴィスコンティがライヴ・レコーディングを行ない、79年1月17日～22日にかけてモントルーにあるマウンテン・スタジオにてボウイ本人とデヴィッド・リチャーズによってミックスが行われている。3枚のLPを封入するパッケージには、鋤田正義とクリス・ウォルターによる写真が使用されている。
2つ目はデヴィッド・ボウイの71歳の誕生日となった今年の1月8日に配信がスタートした“Let’s Dance”のデモ・バージョンをフル・レングスで収録した12インチ・シングルとなっている。このフル・レングス・ヴァージョンは7分34秒の長さで、先日公開されたデモ音源（エディット・ヴァージョン）同様、昨年12月にナイル・ロジャースがミックスを手掛けた音源となる。カップリングには1983年9月12日、カナダはバンクーバーにあるパシフィック・ナショナル・エキシビジョン・コロセウム公演時の“Let’s Dance”のライヴ音源が収録される。
3つ目は1977年にアメリカでプロモーション用として配布されたコンピレーション『ボウイ・ナウ』で一般に流通するのは今回が初めてとなる。収録されているのはアルバム『ロウ』と『ヒーローズ』に収録されている楽曲で、『ア・ニュー・キャリア・イン・ア・ニュー・タウン』ボックス・セットでも使用されているトニー・ヴィスコンティによる最新リマスター音源が使用されている。パッケージのインナースリーヴには、77年にベルリンで撮影されたモノクロの貴重な写真が使われている。
