メイナード・ジェームズ・キーナンは次のようにツイートしている。「11年間のはぐらかしを経て、数ヶ月前にタイトルにファイナルという言葉のある音楽ファイルが連中から届き始めた。理屈としてはこれは私がストーリーとメロディーを書くにあたって私を離れて曲が変わることはないことを意味する。理屈上ではね。まだ1曲ファイナルを待ってるけどね」

「……まだ随分先だけだろうけどね。1曲を除いて、歌詞とメロディーは100％できた。いつかレコーディングするよ。完成までは長い道のりだけど、少なくとも近づいてはいるね。ア・パーフェクト・サークルの新作は4月20日にリリースされるよ」

また、ギタリストのアダム・ジョーンズは元スキッド・ロウのセバスチャン・バックとザ・メルヴィンスのバズ・オズボーンに楽器陣の3人で新作を演奏したことをインスタグラムで明かしており、「レコーディングは3月に始まる」と述べている。
