デヴィッド・ボウイが選んだ100冊に対する読書クラブを息子が立ち上げることに

デヴィッド・ボウイの読書クラブが息子のダンカン・ジョーンズによって立ち上げられている。

映画『月に囚われた男』や『ミッション：8ミニッツ』で知られる映画監督のダンカン・ジョーンズだが、インスタグラムで読書クラブを立ち上げることを明かし、父親を「読書の鬼」と評している。

読書クラブで最初の課題図書に選ばれたのはピーター・アクロイドによって1985年に刊行され、賞も受賞している『魔の聖堂（Hawksmoor）』となっている。本作は人間の生贄を必要とする教会を建てた十八世紀の建築師ニコラス・ダイアーと、その教会に関連した殺人事件を負っている1980年代の警視正、ニコラス・ホークスムアの物語が並行して進行するものとなっている。

『魔の聖堂』は2013年に公開されたデヴィッド・ボウイが選ぶ100冊にも選ばれている。恐らくソーシャル・メディアを通して本書に語り合うことになるこの読書クラブだが、2月1日までに『魔の聖堂』を読み終えると参加することができるという。

デヴィッド・ボウイは先日、ブライアン・イーノやディーヴォらとジャム・セッションした未発表の音源が存在することが明らかになっている。

ディーヴォのデビュー・アルバム『頽廃的美学論』は、デヴィッド・ボウイの援助の下、ブライアン・イーノがプロデューサーを務めているが、未発表になっているレコーディングのテープに問題のセッションは収録されているという。

マーク・マザーズボウによれば、ジェラルド・キャセールが「空港の公衆電話で彼女と喧嘩していたため」飛行機を逃してしまい、他の全員はドイツのケルンにあるコニー・プランクのスタジオでやり過ごすことになったという。「それでディーヴォと、デヴィッド・ボウイ、ブライアン・イーノ、（カンの）ホルガー・シューカイ、そこにたむろしていた奇妙なエレクトロニック・ミュージシャンのドイツ人たちで一緒にジャム・セッションをしたんだ」
