9月に9年ぶりとなる来日公演を行うデュラン・デュランだが、この来日公演を記念して日本で未発売だったシングル・ボックスセット『ザ・シングルズ 81−85』が9月13日にリリースされることが決定している。
このボックスセットは海外では２００３年に紙ジャケットの１３枚組のＣＤシングルを収録したボックス・セットとして発売されたが、２００９年に新たにＣＤ３枚組として発売となっており、初国内盤リリースとなる。1981年から1985年の全盛期にリリースされた13枚のシングルをCD3枚組に収録したものとなっており、オリジナル・アルバム未収録曲やオリジナル・アルバム未収録ヴァージョンを多数収録している。
今回の来日公演は1982年の初来日公演より35年ぶりとなるもので、日本武道館公演にはCHIC feat. ナイル・ロジャースが出演することが決定している。
