ジャニス・ジョプリンの最新ドキュメンタリー映画『ジャニス：リトル・ガール・ブルー』が、2016年9月より、シアター・イメージフォーラム他全国にて順次公開されることが決定している。
同作は昨年のヴェネツィア映画祭でのワールド・プレミアを皮切りに、トロント映画祭、ロンドン映画祭など各国の映画祭で公開されてきた映画で、監督はエイミー・バーグが務め、製作は、監督としてアカデミー賞受賞経験もあるアレックス・ギブニーが担当している。アーカイブ映像では、ジョン・レノン、ピンク、ジュリエット・ルイスなども出演している。
また映画公開を記念し、7月20日には同名の国内盤公式サウンドトラック盤がリリースされることも決定している。オリジナルアルバムからの楽曲や、さまざまなLIVE音源など全17曲の収録が予定されている。本作にはこれまで未発表の1968年4月にニューヨークのジェネレーション・クラブで行われた、キング牧師追悼コンサートで収録された“Piece Of My Heart”のライヴ音源が初収録されるという。
