UKのレコード・ストア・デイは2024年のブラック・フライデーにリリースされるアイテムを発表している。
11月29日に迎える今年のブラック・フライデーだが、ザ・ビートルズ、ビリー・アイリッシュ、ホイットニー・ヒューストン、ジョニ・ミッチェル、U2、ヴァン・ヘイレン、オリヴィア・ロドリゴ、ノア・カーンらがこの日に独自のアイテムをリリースすることが明らかになっている。
レコード・ストア・デイは今年4月にも開催されており、その際にはパラモアとケイト・ブッシュがアンバサダーを務めていた。また、今年はUKではレコード店の数が10年ぶりの高水準に達し、イギリスのレコード売上が2023年に1990年以来の高水準に達したというニュースも報じられている。
一部のタイトルはレコード・ストア・デイ参加ショップでのみ、先着順で店頭販売される。それ以外は11月30日午前8時から参加店舗とそのウェブサイトにて購入することも可能となっている。
注目のリリースとしてはビリー・アイリッシュが最新作『ヒット・ミー・ハード・アンド・ソフト』のヴォーカルだけのアイソレート・ヴァージョンをリリースするほか、U2は2004年発表の『ハウ・トゥ・ディスマントル・アン・アトミック・ボム』のリマスター盤と共に未発表＆レア音源を10曲収録したシャドウ・アルバム『ハウ・トゥ・リアセンブル・アン・アトミック・ボム』をリリースする。
